Tracking Inventory with Warehouse Management
Inventory tracking is all about capturing and retrieving details. It sounds simple, but can be a nightmare without WMS. Warehouse-Link® tracks every detail for every piece of inventory – who handled the inventory, where they put it, who picked it and who shipped it and what quantities. But Warehouse-LINK® goes further than that by tracking dates such as receive date, expiration date and manufacture date. And identification numbers such as batch/lot/serial numbers. Warehouse-LINK® tracks items with environmental controls such as controlled substances, hazardous materials, freezer and refrigerated items or items that are not allowed to be next to each other in a warehouse or items that require special treatment such as jewelry that needs to be in a locked storage unit. Inventory tracking includes inventory ownership and QC inventory.
Not every item is destined to sit on the shelf until it is picked and shipped. From raw materials to finished goods, there can be all kinds of twists, turns and transformations which the product may make before shipping to the customer. Warehouse-LINK® provides tracking and inventory integrity throughout the entire life of the product – no matter if it’s a simple receive/pick/ship or a completely new product after manufacturing, kitting, repackaging, or product customization, Warehouse-LINK® will maintain all inventory history and tracking.
